Nurse Gets Fantastic Surprise Send-Off!

We’re back with another Surprise Someone initiative and this time we made sure that after 46 years at the NHS, veteran Julie went out in style!

For those who don’t know, Surprise Someone is an initiative that is all about making someone’s day by giving them a surprise that’s meaningful and memorable. Whether it’s for someone who’s been through tough times, someone who’s always putting others first, or someone who’s made an incredible contribution, this initiative brings a little magic into their lives.

For Julie, the surprise came in the form of a personalised musical performance at the hospital where she’d spent her entire career. In true The Tailors style, the performance featured reimagined versions of songs by the Spice Girls, The Human League, and Bruno Mars—each with lyrics that were tailored to Julie’s personality, including her well-known love for being punctual and her sense of humour about NHS spending.

Nadine, who reached out to The Tailors to organise the surprise said, “The whole event was completely emotional. I was the person who knew what to expect and I still got very emotional about it. 

It brought tears to everybody’s eyes and you could clearly see the effort The Tailors put in. We couldn’t believe how special it was and the high standard was just something else. 

Julie couldn’t believe it and everyone still talks about it to this day. It was so personalised and special, it's definitely going to be something Julie remembers forever.’

Getting to surprise these wonderfully deserving people and see the look on their face when their world is turned upside down in a really positive way, in just a few minutes really shows that we have the best job in the world!
